Giving Back To The Community.
The Taste of West "O" is proud to have an on going partnership with several Omaha charities. We are happy to donate a portion of the proceeds from the Taste of West "O" to these worthwhile causes. In 2007, The Taste of West "O" donated $3,000.00 to the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and $2,500.00 to the Child Saving Institute. We plan to continue this tradtion again this year. We will also be making a financial contribution to the Boy Scouts of America. 
So, while you're out enjoying some great food and music, you can take comfort in knowing that the dollars you are spending are helping out several local non-profit groups. We hope to see you in July! The Taste of West "O" announced plans for a weekend long classic car show at the 2nd Annual community festival.
A juried competition that will award both trophy and cash prize money for multiple categories will take place at this years event. $2,500 will be divided among several categories including Best Custom Car, Best Street Rod, Best Stock Car, Best Foreign Entry, Youth Class (1974-1984), Judges Choice, Peoples Choice and Best of Show.
If you have a custom car that you want to enter into the car show please click on the application below and send us your registration form no later than July 10, 2008.
Show and Shine will take place on Saturday, July 12th from 11 AM - 5 PM.
Judgement Day will take place on Sunday, July 13th from 11 AM - 5 PM. IMPORTANT! All vehicles must be on premise and in designated car show area no later than 10:30 AM both days. Late entries will not be admitted. We have over 15,000 people that attend this festival and we cannot have vehicle access after the event has started. Gates open at 8:00 AM and will be closed at 10:29 AM. Don't be late!

Village Inn To Sponsor The 2008 Taste of West "O" Pie Eating Contest! 
Children under the age of 18 are invited to register for the Village Inn Pie Eating Contest that will take place both Saturday and Sunday at the 2nd Annual Taste of West "O". The Pie Eating Contest will take place on the OmahaDiningClub.com stage at approximately 2:00 PM both days. Participants will be given 5 minutes to eat a full pie donated by Village Inn. The contestant that eats the most of their pie within the 5 minute time frame will win a $50 Village Inn gift certificate as well as a Taste of West "O" food and beverage ticket package valued at $25.00. Registration forms will be available at the event. |

The 2008 Taste of West "O" will be held three days this year! July 11th, 12th & 13th. The Taste of West"O" is held at The Shops of Legacy located at 168th & West Center Rd.
FRIDAY- July 11th - 6PM -10 PM
WestFest will kick off Friday, July 11th with a FREE outdoor concert at the all new Legacy Amphitheater. The Monica Eby Band in the all new Legacy Amphitheater beginning at 6:00 PM followed by Oxygen at 8:00 PM. The music and fun will continue until 10 PM and then move indoors to the official OmahaNightlife.com after party inside Roja and the Taste of West "O" VIP tent featuring DJ's and adult beverages until 1:00 AM. There will only be one food vendor operating on Friday night and that will be Old Chicago. They will be serving single slices of pizza in the Legacy Amphitheater during concert hours from 6PM - 10PM. All other food vendors will be fully operational on Saturday, July 12th beginning at 11:00 AM.
Saturday-July 12th - 11 AM - 10 PM
Over 30 Food vendors will start dishing up the goodies at 11 AM and continue serving their fabulous food dishes until 10 PM. Music will play all day and festival patrons can visit over 30+ Artisans that will be on hand displaying their unique Arts & Crafts. If you're a Classic Car buff, you can stroll down memory lane by checking out some of the hottest Classic cars around. There is so much to do at this years event you better plan to spend the whole afternoon with us. WestFest will run until 10 PM.
Sunday-July 13th - 11 AM - 10 PM
The fun will continue starting again at 11 AM. Music will kick-off at noon and continue all day until 9 PM. There will be a pie eating contest on Sunday at 2 PM. The Classic Car show will continue throughout the afternoon and patrons will have the opportunity to get some value shopping in at one of the many Shops of Legacy Merchants.

The Taste of West "O" is looking to add even more cultural diversity to our three day community festival. The inaugural year proved to be financially rewarding for those Arts & Crafters that featured their items to the thousands of festival patrons that attended the event. Our space rental is affordable and allows our Vendors the opportunity to make a nice profit. We are currently accpeting applications for unique Arts & Crafts Vendors from the Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado and Missouri region.
